NEWS WATCH: EMULATOR Brings Family And Videogames To Comics – Out Now On Kickstarter! – Comic Watch

Out now on Kickstarter, Elevator brings writer and letterer Toben Racicot (known for his lettering work in comics like Beastlands, Sidequest or Gimmick) together with artist Emiliana Pinna (Daltonica, Green Moon Comics, Acid Free Lab) and colorist Tankitha Joy (Crown & Anchor) for a video game-themed family adventure.

Calvin Jones plays a lot of video games. His dad, Victor, is a busy police officer on the New Kingsdale force.  Alice, Calvin’s mom and Victor’s wife, died two years ago. Instead of talking about their pain, the two lose themselves in play and work.

The latest release of Lionheart 3: Revenge of Doctor Maelstrom sees Calvin and his friends Russ and Dan skip school to play. After a heated discussion about whose turn it is, something goes wrong and the villain, Doctor Maelstrom shows up in Calvin’s basement. Now, they must find a way to return Maelstrom to the game world, but the game keeps crashing, and Victor’s concerned about a new terror on the streets of Kingsdale.

Here are some preview pages of the comic, inspired by series like Stranger Things, The Goonies, Archie’s Weird Mysteries and Scooby Doo.
