MAXISAVER is set to open 20 more stores this year after its first was unveiled last summer.
There are currently eight Maxisaver stores already, the first of which was opened in Hinckley, Leicestershire, in August 2020.

The stores sell all sorts of products from food and drink, household items, and cleaning products, to pet gear, stationery, and beauty products.
There are also products in the leisure category, and garden supplies, as well as seasonal and health products too.
The products on offer at Maxisaver are priced to reflect the budget market of the brand, they start from 29p and go up to £59.99.
In comparison, the store’s close rival, Poundstretcher, has prices that can range between 15p and £90.

AT the moment there are only eight Maxisaver stores you can shop at, but the store is looking to expand to more locations across the Midlands

The two stores are close competitors and with the proposed expansion of Maxisaver, the bargain store could one day take over Poundstretcher’s 450 store empire.
The current Maxisaver stores can be found in Hinckley, Erdington, Stourbridge, Melton Mowbray, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Dudley and Newark.
Another 20 stores by the end of the year will bring the chain up to 28 in total, giving shoppers more opportunity to shop for a bargain on the highstreet.
There’s also the start of plans for a trial of a click and collect service online to utilise the store’s new website that is currently in the works.
The shop expansion could see at least 200 new jobs created across the new stores, as well as growing the head office team.
Maxisaver is now searching for new premises that will be between 2500-6000sq ft feet to host the shop floor, and the locations will ideally be found in towns and cities across the rest of the Midlands.
So the next places we could see a new Maxisaver pop up may be in Bedford or further north of the Midlands in Sheffield.
The stores might also pop up in larger out of town units that are up to 15,000sq ft in shop-floor space, as a property manager is assisting with that side of the expansion.
Maxisaver is supposedly searching for properties for the new stores that will be close to transport links and other retailers, so shoppers will easily be able to head to them on the high street.
There are no plans for shoppers to be able to place home delivery orders from the store online yet though, but we’ll update you when we know more.
Poundland on the other hand, has recently launched a new home delivery service and it’s now rolled out more locations you can shop the discount goods from.
But last year Poundstretcher was hinting at closing 250 of its stores as part of restructuring plans, which could make more room for rivals like Maxisaver to take its place.
Despite the proposed closures the bargain brand still got the seal of approval from famous names like Mrs Hinch, who bought some of its products last year.
