New Pokémon Masters trailer shows off co-op gameplay

Pokmon Masters is The Pokmon Company’s next foray into mobile gaming that it announced earlier this year, and it’s all about the battling rather than the catching.

Today it revealed a few new features for the real-time strategy game, as well as some more gameplay footage to get fans hyped for the release – the most interesting of which being three player co-op with trainers from around the world.

Trainers, gym leaders and elite four members from all other regions of the Pokmon world can be found on the brand new setting of Pasio, travelling with a partner Pokmon to form a ‘sync pair’. While not much is known about the artificial island of Pasio, we do know it’s home to the Pokmon Masters League, where sync pairs battle 3-on-3 in order to win badges and become champions of the Pokmon Masters League.

The cooperative play will pit you and two friends against AI opponents, and you can work together to unleash a special coordinated attack called a ‘unity attack’. Trainers will also be able to form powerful moves with their partner Pokmon, known as ‘sync moves’.

Not pictured in the trailer are new special outfits for the trainers on Pasio, Sygna Suits. When worn, a trainer’s partner Pokmon changes to match it – Brock, for example, usually battles with Onyx, but when donning his Sygna Suit he switches it out for Tyranitar.

As the game is slated for a summer 2019 release date, it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for more updates in the coming weeks.
