New mum BANS her husband from spending quality time with daughter ‘because he’s a smoker’

AN overprotective mum has been slammed online after refusing to let her husband spend quality time with his daughter because “he’s a smoker”.

Posting in Reddit’s parenting forum, the woman worries about their seven-month-old daughter inhaling second hand smoke and has BANNED her partner from taking her anywhere by himself.

She explained: “I’ve been told that I’m too precious with her since the day she was born, but it is being brought up in every single argument and I’ve had enough!”

Along with disapproving of her husband smoking around their daughter or taking her anywhere where people may have smoked, the cautious parent added: “I simply don’t see a reason for him to take her anywhere.

“It’s not like he wants to go for a walk with her, all he ever asked was to take her to his parents.”

What’s more, the woman believes that her husband wanting to take their daughter over to his parent’s house is “spiteful” and “the only purpose [of the trip] is to force me into being away from her.”

Although her partner needs to ask for her approval before taking his daughter out, the woman complained that he has never once changed a dirty nappy or given his daughter a bath.

In response to her partner’s accusations that she’s being “too precious” with their daughter, the woman added: “Why can’t he appreciate the good job I’m doing?”

She concluded: “I KNOW I’m precious with her, no doubt! But I think it’s a good thing and I wish he would appreciate me being a good mother rather than making me look like a lunatic.”

Unsurprisingly, other users were quick to jump to the husband’s defence.

One wrote: “He’s her father. He doesn’t need a reason or to justify his desire to spend time alone with her.

“That said, it sounds like he isn’t contributing much.”

Another added: “First, he’s the dad. He should be able to take the baby wherever he wants. I agree with no homes that are smoked i, but he should be able to take the baby without you there.”

Meanwhile, a third relied: “Sounds like he isn’t doing much to help raise your child but you also aren’t letting him do much.

“Your stance against him spending time with her is probably making him feel more and more distant everyday.”
