New Justice League Photo Arrives as #ReleaseTheSnyderCut Campaign Rages On

Aquaman is stabbing Steppenwolf in our latest look at the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Jason Momoa took to social media to share the image after recently stating that the original cut should be released. Momoa has been an outspoken supporter of Zack Snyder over the past few years and is very thankful that the director chose him to play Aquaman on the big screen. While Justice League stumbled at the box office, Arthur Curry’s standalone movie was a worldwide success, earning over $1 billion.

Jason Momoa saw the Snyder Cut and has been opening up more about it lately. He claims that it should be released for all of the fans. Now, the Aquaman actor has released a black and white image of himself taking down Steppenwolf with a spear. The villain has his back to Arthur Curry and looks like he is taken by surprise. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman can be seen in the background observing the situation.

It’s usually Zack Snyder who is the one to share teases of his original Justice League vision, so this one is a bit more special. Jason Momoa did not reveal any information about the shot, but he did hashtag the photo with, “Release the Snyder Cut.” This will undoubtedly get DC fans who have been begging Warner Bros. to release the original cut of the movie for nearly two years now. Could we be close to something official coming down the line? The studio did just make a boat load of money off of Todd Phillips’ Joker, so they might be more willing to dump a bit more cash into the failed team-up movie in order to give it a second chance.

Zack Snyder had to leave Justice League right before the reshoots began due to a family tragedy. There have also been reports that the studio may have forced him out, which the director has hinted about. Whatever the case may be, the studio went in and reshaped the movie through costly reshoots under the direction of Joss Whedon, who was always tapped to come on and help at that point in the production. The final product was not what Snyder had originally envisioned at all for what is now known as the Justice League Snyder Cut.

Not only was the final cut of Justice League nothing like Zack Snyder had sought to make, it was not what the fans wanted to see. A cohesive storyline was buried, a mustache was badly taken off of Henry Cavill’s face through CGI, villains looked terrible, and a lot more went wrong with what fans saw on the big screen. While we may never end up seeing the Snyder Cut, that isn’t going to stop Jason Momoa, Snyder, and the fans from reminding Warner Bros. that they all want it released.
