BARGAIN supermarket Walmart has announced it will be launching Elf on the Shelf cereal – and it’s sugar cookie-flavoured.
The cereal will be made up of red and green star pieces, mini marshmallows and edible glitter – and will be available in stores and online from early November.
A box of this Christmas-themed cereal will cost shoppers just $3.64 (£2.83) for a 12.2 oz (346g) portion.
A 12 oz box of Kellogg’s Rice Krispies costs $2.88 (£2.24) at Walmart – so you’ll be paying about $1 more than normal for the novelty breakfast food.
Find your nearest Walmart store using the online branch finder – so you’re prepared for when the cereal hits the shelves.
For those less familiar, Elf on the Shelf is a children’s book, where the main character Elf checks up on kids to see if they should go on Santa Claus’ naughty or nice list.
According to people.com, shoppers also spied Elf on the Shelf-themed Christmas Cakebites – with festive sprinkles and red and green layers of vanilla cake.
These do not seem to be available to buy online – we’ve reached out to a Walmart representative to find out more and will update the story soon.
Kids can also celebrate Christmas thanks to Aldi US selling a Disney advent calendar with books behind each door.
Walmart is elusively selling Hershey’s two new chocolate bars – one is “extra creamy” and the other has “crunchy whoppers”.
If it’s still too early for Christmas for you, Walmart is also selling pumpkin spiced spam – just in time for Halloween.
