The Netflix stand-up star proved she wasn’t to messed with this week when she got her own back on the “foolish dorks” attempting to extort her.
Whitney Cummings took to Twitter to share screenshots of messages from a cruel Instagram user who had threatened her with pictures of her nipple.
Earlier this year, the 36-year-old recorded herself in her bathtub, and while the camera panned down, it accidentally captured her nipple for a split second.
As soon as she realised, she removed the clip – but not before a sinister troll saved the images of her bare chest.
The unnamed user then sent her the screenshots and asked how much money she would be willing to pay for them to be deleted.
Taking back ownership of the images, the comic, whose special Can I Touch It? is available on Netflix, bravely posted the nude shots herself.
She explained: “In April, I accidentally posted an Insta story that showed a nipple. Once I realised, I deleted.
“The people who took screen grabs are trying to get money from me, some said they have offers to sell them, some are asking for money to not post the photo.”
Whitney went on: “They all must think I’m way more famous than I am, but they also must think I’m way more easily intimidated than I am.
“If anyone is gonna make money or likes off my nipple, it’s gonna be me. So here it all is, you foolish dorks.”
The comedian defended her decision not to name and shame the trolls, explaining that “some of them might be dumb kids”.
She finished: “When a woman in the public eye is extorted, we have to spend time, money and energy dealing with it, hiring lawyers and security experts, and living with a pit in our stomach about when and how we will be humiliated.
“Y’all can have my nipple, but not my time or money anymore.”
The powerful move will hopefully prevent similar threats being made in the future, as Whitney showed the trolls who’s the boss.
