MINDHUNTER’S season two trailer gives a brief glimpse of Charles Manson as the FBI try and solve the horrific Atlanta child murders.
David Fincher’s dark Netflix crime drama will see agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench try and catch the Atlanta Monster who was at large between 1979 and 1981, when more than 25 children were murdered in Atlanta, Georgia.
The duo are continuing to pick the brains of jailed murderers in the hope they can learn more about the serial killers they so desperately want to catch.
Wayne Williams, 61, is believed to be behind the majority of the Atlanta child murders and is currently serving life in prison after being convicted of killing two men.
While he doesn’t feature in the trailer, a young child is ominously followed by a mysterious man in a car. The local community are also seen marching in force at the height of the killings.
Damon Herriman also makes a brief appearance as Charles Manson, who he also plays in Quentin Tarantino’s latest film Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.
He recently discussed the unusual dual casting in an interview with IndieWire.
Discussing working with Tarantino, he said: “He knew that I’d done it (Mindhunter). It would have been weird to keep that a secret.
“But it didn’t come up much. He said at one point while we were shooting, ‘You’ve done Fincher’s thing already?’ I was like, ‘Yeah, it was a couple weeks ago.’
“He said, ‘Cool, how’d that go?’ I said, ‘Great.’ He didn’t ask about any of it other than that. He certainly didn’t say he wanted me to do something different. There was enough already that I found different about him, and I looked different.”
Viewers of season one can’t wait for the next instalment when it drops on August 16.
One wrote: “Just watched the season 2 trailer of Mindhunter and I’m shaken to the core….I cannot wait!”
Another shared: “It looks amazing. The fella who plays Charles Manson in Mindhunter is playing him again in OUATIH.”
As a third excitedly typed: “MINDHUNTER IS COMING BACK THIS IS NOT A DRILL !1!1!!2!1!2.”
