THE Crown has captivated the attention of Netflix viewers as it tells the story of the real life Royal Family over the years.
Series three is set in the 70s when Prince Charles meets Camilla for the first time and here are some of the other big moments set to feature when the show returns to the small screens.

What’s The Crown about?
The Crown is a historical drama about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
Season three will feature the years 1964, after the birth of the Queen’s youngest child Prince Edward.
The 1970s will see Prince Charles getting acquainted with Camilla Parker Bowles – then Camilla Shand.
The pair met at a polo match in 1971 and dated before he left to join the Royal Navy in 1973.
This season will also see the breakdown of Princess Margaret’s marriage to Lord Snowdon.

When is season three of The Crown on Netflix?
Netflix has confirmed that The Crown series three premiere on November 17.
Prior to the streaming service’s announcement, Tobias Menzies – who plays Prince Philip – let slip in an interview that the new season would arrive in November 2019.
Speaking about the new series, he said: “We shot season three and that starts in November.”
Seasons one and two aired in 2016 and 2017.
The Netflix drama shot its third and fourth season back-to-back and filming commenced in July 2018.
The third and fourth series will span the years 1964-76, with series one and two detailing the early years of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, from 1947-63.

What happened in series one and two of The Crown?
The first series of The Crown followed the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II. It consisted of 10 episodes and was released on Netflix on November 4, 2016.
In the first series, we see Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh tie the knot and have two children – Charles and Anne.
King George VI dies from lung cancer, leaving Elizabeth with the task of ruling – she becomes queen at the age of 25, leaving her husband Prince Phillip emasculated by his wife’s status.
Slowly, tensions start to grow between the pair.
The series also sees external Prime Minister Winston Churchill (John Lithgow) return to power after six years of a labour government and London becomes engulfed in the black smog.
In series two, the marriage continues to crumble as Phillip leaves Elizabeth to travel the world.
Then, the palace must scramble together to cover up a scandal that cast a negative light on Phillip… and consequently Elizabeth.
Alongside her philandering husband, the young Elizabeth must also deal with complicated international affairs.
In Ghana, Prime Minister Nkrumah has decided to downsize the monarchy as a way of striving towards a more socialist Africa. PLUS, there’s the Kennedy assassination.
We also see the young Charles struggle at a gruelling boarding school in Scotland, and Elizabeth confront Phillip about some mysterious photos that point to his infidelity.
Will Princess Diana feature in The Crown series three?
Casting Director Nina Gold has confirmed that Diana will NOT appear in this season.
Speaking to Digital Spy she said: “Diana’s not in this season but when we do get to her, that is going to be pretty interesting.”
Diana Spencer will become a main character in future seasons as the show deals with the 80s and 90s.
Relatvive newbie Emma Corrin has been unveiled as the actress who’ll be playing Lady Di in the fourth season.
The Crown’s creator, Peter Morgan, said of the actress: “Emma is a brilliant talent who immediately captivated us when she came in for the part of Diana Spencer.
“As well as having the innocence and beauty of a young Diana, she also has, in abundance, the range and complexity to portray an extraordinary woman who went from anonymous teenager to becoming the most iconic woman of her generation.”
Emma added: “Beyond excited and honoured to be joining The Crown for its fourth season.
“I have been glued to the show since the first episode and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is just surreal. Princess Diana was an icon, and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring.
