As per the terms of the partnership, the Rothman Orthopaedic Institute will  sponsor the Nerd Street Gamers Summer Camp alongside Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs, Susquehanna Esports, and Game Gym.

John Fazio, Founder & CEO of Nerd Street Gamers shared his thoughts on the partnership in a release: “Similar to traditional sport athletes, esports competitors need to be mindful of their mental and physical wellbeing to perform at a high level. By partnering with Rothman Orthopaedics, one of the most respected names in sports medicine, we are making significant steps to educate and promote healthy lifestyles for the esports community as a whole.”

The institute’s physicians will host seminars promoting healthy lifestyles at the aforementioned summer camp and at Nerd Street Gamers’ Localhost venues.

Mike West, CEO of Rothman Orthopaedic Institute also commented: “Rothman Orthopaedics has always focused on partnering with organizations like Nerd Street Gamers that give us a platform to educate communities on the latest health guidance. Gaming is an emerging sector, one that many health professionals aren’t paying attention to. With the increase of participation among esports athletes, it’s important they receive clear information about ways they can stay healthy.”

Esports Insider says: Practically any form of partnership encouraging a healthy lifestyle in esports and gaming is always a positive, especially when the industry is often stereotyped by the mainstream media as being unhealthy and out of shape. We expect plenty of new health initiatives and activations to be rolled out throughout the course of the year.
