Neil Patrick Harris and his family transformed into the iconic characters of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for Halloween.

The How I Met Your Mother actor took to Instagram to share their perfect family portrait and they nailed it.

‘Oompa, loompa, doompety doo! We’ve got a family photo for you!’ he wrote alongside the snap which had his husband David Burtka standing behind iron gates dressed as Willy Wonka.

Their daughter Harper, 10, dressed as Veruca Salt while their son Gideon, 10, transformed into ticket-winning Charlie himself.

‘This year, may you invent an October 31st that is spirited, safe and scrumptious,’ Neil continued.

‘Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple. Happy Halloween from the Burtka-Harris Crew!’

In previous years, Neil, David and their twins have mesmerised fans with their Halloween outfit dedication.

They have dressed as Peter Pan characters as well as members of a super spooky circus.

The family also transformed into classic horror villains (Dracula, Frankenstein and crew) and even famous artists like Andy Warhol and Vincent Van Gogh.

Coronavirus might have stopped them from having the make-up and stylists, but they proved that nothing stops this Halloween-loving family from doing the most.

Since fans always look forward to their spooky looks, the Series of Unfortunate Events actor had to reassure everyone last month that it would be ‘sweet.’

‘I’ve got a clever idea,’ Neil told USA TODAY last month. ‘I promise it’ll be sweet.’

We should have known that nothing is sweeter than the chocolate factory.
