Dee (played by Madeleine West) has not been seen on Neighbours in over 16 years after she was seemingly killed in a tragic car crash on her doomed wedding day to Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Maloney).
The Channel 5 soap character had moved on with his life until troublemaker Andrea (also Madeleine West) turned up claiming to be his dead wife.
Since arriving on Ramsay Street back in 2017, Andrea’s story has seen twist after twist, with the latest being her seemingly revealing Dee is alive and now living under the alias of Karen.
Andrea has been seen meeting with Ian Packer (Nathan Carter), with the two characters plotting against Toadie by not telling him of Karen’s whereabouts.
Andrea has also been seen harbouring a photo of her doppelganger with Ian, but is this actually the real Dee or yet another woman who looks identical to her and Andrea?
Viewers at home have been left with more questions than answers following the recent twists and have taken to Twitter to comment on their frustrations with the plot.
One posted: “Was that Dee or Andrea in that photo? This is too confusing. Soaps shouldn’t be this confusing #Neighbours.
Another added: “I will actually stop watching @neighbours if Madeleine West isn’t actually Dee this time… I’m hoping she was ALWAYS Dee…”
A third queried: “My head is all over the place after that episode. So Dee’s actually alive? Dee is Karen. Andrea is Andrea. We’re going to get a Dee and Andrea scene eventually… right? #Neighbours.”
“Well it was obvious that Andrea and Ian were working together, but I have to say that I didn’t expect the Dee story to be true! #Neighbours,” a fourth remarked.
With fans of the Australian drama wanting a spectacular conclusion to the drawn out storyline, could it be Dee will walk in on Andrea trying to spin Toadie yet another lie?
Seeing the two women face-to-face, will Toadie finally accept and be left heartbroken his late wife has been out in the world this whole time?
If Dee and Toadie do reunite, it seems she will have a lot of explaining to do as to why she never returned to Ramsay Street after the fateful crash.
Although this would conclude the Dee mystery, yet more questions will be asked as to the fate of the two women now and whether they would remain in Erinsborough but viewers will have to keep watching to see if Dee is actually alive?
Elsewhere on the Australian drama, a newcomer is set to ruffle a few feathers as she makes her debut on the soap later this year.
It was announced yesterday British talent Denise Van Outen, 45, will be joining the cast as Prue Wallace, the mother of Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) who will also arrive Down Under later this year.
Denise will appear for a short stint in the London set scenes before arriving on Ramsay Street for a longer period later this year.
Speaking of joining the cast, Denise said: “I am thrilled to be joining the cast of one the world’s most iconic shows, Neighbours.
“To be asked is a privilege and I am very excited to get to work on a really fun storyline first in London and then heading over to Melbourne.”
Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
