Need a Reason to See Endgame Again This Weekend? Mark Ruffalo Has One

Marvel Studios really wants Avengers: Endgame to become the highest grossing movie of all time. The studio just re-released the epic blockbuster with some bonus features and Mark Ruffalo is now campaigning for Marvel Cinematic Universe fans to give Endgame another shot. For incentive, the Bruce Banner actor shared some behind-the-scenes topless pictures of Chris Hemsworth’s “Bro Thor,” as he is officially called now. “Reason 1 of 3000 to see Avengers Endgame again this weekend,” said Ruffalo in the caption.

Bro Thor” is arguably one of the high points of Endgame, which is ironic because the character is at the lowest point of his life. Chris Hemsworth loved being able to step out of the box and challenge what it means to play The God of Thunder on the big screen and he would really like to do it again. With that being said, the focus this weekend is to get fans back into theaters to get Endgame to the top and to also prepare for Spider-Man: Far From Home, which hits theaters on Tuesday.

Robert Downey Jr. had already tried to rally fans to see Endgame again earlier in the week with a somewhat sarcastic tweet about “new footage.” The actor has now sent out another message to his more than 14 million followers. RDJ says, “suit up, show up, records gonna blow up!!!” in his new reminder post about the Endgame re-release. RDJ also shared some Iron Man fan art asking MCU fans to make history. His posts are simple and effective and should at least get a handful of his 14 million followers into theaters again.

As of this writing, Endgame sits at $2.751 billion and is still pretty far away from getting up to James Cameron’s Avatar, which is at $2.787 billion. However, this weekend could end up being pretty big for the MCU. Toy Story 4 is expected to be the number one movie at the box office for the second week in a row and it looks like Endgame should re-enter the top ten after being ousted last weekend. It’s really going to depend on how many fans end up going to see the movie for a second, and it some cases, third or fourth time.

The Endgame re-release comes with a new introduction from co-director Anthony Russo and features an unfinished deleted scene, a tribute to Stan Lee, and an exclusive look at Spider-Man: Far From Home. While the movie might not end up as the highest grossing of all time, this weekend should help out Far From Home quite a bit, even though it really doesn’t need it at this point in the game. The highly anticipated sequel is expected to earn upwards of $150 million when it debuts next week.
