Neat-freak mum makes an ‘easy-read flip chart’ list of chores she does daily to show her husband exactly how he can help

A SUPER organised mum-of-two has created a handy flip-chart list so her husband knows exactly what needs to be done around the house, and how he can help out.

The Australian woman called Annie penned the weekly schedule after her other-half complained he couldn’t help her with chores, admitting he wasn’t sure what needed doing each day.

Sharing pictures of her impressive handwritten notes to Facebook group Mums Who Clean, Annie revealed her ‘flip card’ system that makes it easy for anyone to follow her routine.

She wrote: “My partner has forever been at me that I always have to ask for help with the house work as he never knows what needs to be done.

“I made an easy to read flip chart with my daily cleaning so if he ever feels like helping me out, all he has to do is grab it and take a look. I thought I’d share in case it’s helpful to others.”

The mother shared that having clinically diagnosed OCD means that to her, the listing system doesn’t seem so ‘overkill’, and hoped people would see it as useful and not patronising to husbands.

Every day, Annie does the same set of tasks including making the beds, sweeping and vacuuming the floors, washing the dishes, wiping down surfaces and packing up her children’s toys.

“I never hassle my husband about helping me out as I know it’s all in my head and if I want to be a headcase about housework, that’s on me,” she jokingly added.

“I don’t expect him to do any of it – I just made the chart in the hopes that is prevents the ‘I don’t know what needs doing’ line I get whenever he realises he hasn’t helped me out.”

On Monday, the mum changes and washes the bed sheets, does one load of laundry and cleans the bathroom – something she does three times a week.

Tuesday’s are dedicated to general decluttering as well as taking the bins out, while Wednesday’s are for washing one load of clothing, dusting and washing the windows.

Thursday’s are more relaxed, giving her more time to spend with the family – with Friday’s reserved for washing more clothes and towels.

And she doesn’t take any breaks on the weekend, repeating her daily tasks by cleaning the house and tidying the garden.

Hundreds of parents have since commented on her impressive post, praising Annie for her organised list – while other mothers shared their own daily chore charts.

One woman wrote: “This is brilliant. I just say to my husband, look around and do something useful!”

While a mum added: “I love this organisation. I am such a visual person so seeing these lists every day would not overwhelm me.”

A third joked: “I did something similar at home and my husband just told me that ‘none of that work really needs to get done’ and that I just create it.”

“He’s going to wish he never asked,” concluded another Facebook user.
