Season 10 of NCIS Los Angeles is nearly at end with just two more episodes left before the run wraps up for another year. The final pair of instalments will form a two-part story as the NCIS and JAG crossover plays out with beloved characters making a comeback. CBS has already shared some details about the forthcoming episode airing next week, here’s a sneak peek at the next instalment.

What will happen in NCIS Los Angeles season 10, episode 23?

Episode 23 of NCIS Los Angeles will be airing in America on CBS on Sunday at 12 at 10/9c.

Sky One in the UK will be airing the episode in the UK in a couple of weeks’ time with British fans behind their US counterparts by three weeks.

So, The Guardian is likely to be airing on June 2 in the UK on Sky One.

CBS has released a very short promo for The Guardian which sees leads “G” Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL COOL J) turning up in the Persian Gulf as they form a new alliance.

NCIS LOS ANGELES AND JAG CROSSOVER AIR DATE, CAST, TRAILER, PLOT

A voiceover for the nine-second promo says: “On a special NCIS LA, David James Elliott reprises his role from the hit drama JAG.”

We see the star entering the scene and introducing himself to Callen and Sam: “Captain Harmer Rabb, welcome aboard gentlemen.”

However, both Sam and Callen don’t look completely thrilled to be working with the captain, suggesting there could be some clashes in the episode.

US network CBS also released a short synopsis for the episode, which reads: “Callen and Sam travel to the USS Allegiance in the Persian Gulf to work with Navy Captain Harmon “Harm” Rabb, Jr. (David James Elliott) when the NCIS team uncovers ISIS sympathizers who are targeting military locations.”

WHO IS IN THE NCIS LOS ANGELES AND JAG CROSSOVER CAST?

The Guardian is likely to finish on a cliff-hanger given the episode is the first of a two-part story which will conclude next week.

Along with JAG alumni Elliott back on the scene, actress Catherine Bell will be returning as Lt Col Sarah ‘Mac’ MacKenzie.

JAG came before the NCIS franchise and ran for 10 seasons with the series concluding in 2005.

In a statement executive producer, R Scott Gemmill said: “Catherine’s Mac was a strong, smart woman who held her own, and then some, in a male-dominated world. Her character paved the way for other strong female leads.

“Not only is it great to be working together again as friends, but to be able to write for Catherine and have her same character interact with our NCIS: Los Angeles characters now, that’s wonderfully surreal. It feels like everything has come full circle.”

NCIS characters will be interacting with JAG members but as yet Mac’s new role has not been confirmed.

He went on to share his excitement at being reunited with Elliott, whom he did the first four season of JAG with, describing it as “amazing”.

Teasing the forthcoming story, he said: “Bringing Harmon Rabb to work with NCIS: Los Angeles makes for a formidable coalition, and both entities are going to need all the help they can get when confronted with the greatest challenge of their careers.”

Gemmill said the episodes would be taking a “whole different direction” to the standard NCIS episode with fans in for a treat.

NCIS Los Angeles season 10 airs on CBS in the US on Sundays at 10/9c and on Sky One in the UK on Sundays at 10pm
