Basketball fans are counting down to the release of NBA 2K20 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
And the good news is that there isn’t long to wait, because NBA 2K20 has a September 6 release date.
Unfortunately, however, fans hoping to read any NBA 2K20 reviews ahead of launch might be disappointed.
NBA 2K20 review scores won’t go live until 12.01am on September 6.
This makes it tricky for pre-order customers to cancel their orders if the game isn’t up to scratch.
On the plus side, the NBA 2K20 MyTeam servers will be switched on at 4pm later today (September 5), so fans can expect one or two gameplay streams to go live ahead of launch.
Fans can also get a feel for the game by checking out the NBA 2K20 demo.
Express Online will round-up a selection of review scores when the verdicts go live.
NBA 2K20 features all of the current teams and players from the US basketball league, as well as some of the iconic teams from yesteryear.
Following in the footsteps of games like FIFA, players will also be able to select all-female teams.
All 12 teams from the WNBA will be available in Play Now and Season modes. The WNBA will have their own gameplay animations, play styles and visuals.
MyCareer mode also makes a return with a new story featuring Idris Elba.
New storyline elements have also been added to the MyGM mode, which features additional cutscenes and player interactions.
Slightly more controversial is the MyTeam mode, which functions similarly to FIFA Ultimate Team.
In MyTeam, players build their very own NBA franchise by purchasing and unlocking virtual card packs.
The use of randomised elements and virtual currency has been criticised, especially in the wake of loot box gambling concerns.
