NBA 2K20: 7 best shooting guards in the game – Harden, Thompson, Mitchell & more

Shooting guards are undoubtedly one of the most important positions for any NBA side. Generally falling into one of two playing styles, either a deep threat or an aggressive slasher, they are a key points source out on the court.

There are a few familiar faces up the top end of the shooting guard rankings on NBA 2K20, some young talents and some seasoned veterans. Check out our list of the top seven shooting guards below.

James Harden, Houston Rockets (OVR 96)

Height: 6’5″

Shoes: Adidas

The Houston Rockets man once again comes in as the highest rated shooting guard on NBA 2K, and rightfully so.

The unorthodox shooting guard had another incredible season, posting stats worthy of the MVP award, which ultimately ended up in the hands of the Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo.

He led the league in a number of different areas last campaign. His 36.1 points per game average was some eight points better than his nearest competitor, whilst he also drained 378 threes, a league high.

Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors (OVR 89)

Height: 6’7″

Shoes: Anta 

Golden State’s Klay Thompson is the next name in the list, coming in at a solid 89 overall despite being forecast to miss the majority of the upcoming season with an ACL injury.

It was another excellent season for the Splash Brother, averaging 21.5 PPG whilst also shooting an average of 3.1 threes per game. With an A+ three-point rating on 2K20, he will be one of the go to shooting guards in the game for sure.

Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz (OVR 88) 

Height: 6’3″

Shoes: Adidas

At just 23 years of age, Donovan Mitchell is likely to be a name seen right at the top end of the NBA for many seasons to come.  He posted some impressive stats for the Jazz last season, averaging 23.8 points per game whilst also putting up 4.1 rebounds per game.

With the Utah side having added Mike Conley to the mix in the offseason, they are one of the dark horses in the West for the upcoming campaign and Mitchell will be an integral part of any success.

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards (OVR 87)

Height: 6’5″

Shoes: Nike

Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards is the next name in the list, coming in at an 87 overall, retaining his rating from 2K19.

The Wizards shooting guard had his best points scoring season to date, averaging 25.6 points per game. Having played the whole season without the injured John Wall, Beal was the main man for the Wizards last campaign and throughly deserving of the 87 overall.

C. J. McCollum, Portland Trail Blazers (OVR 87)

Height: 6’3″

Shoes: Li-Ning

C.J. was one of the key men in the Portland side which made the surprise run to the Western Conference Finals last season, and as a result remains one of the best shooting guards in 2K20.

It was the playoffs where the 6’3″ Blazers star exploded into action, with a 24.7 PPG average putting up five rebounds and 3.7 assists in his 16 playoff appearances in 2019. Who can forget THAT game 7 performance against the Nuggets?

Victor Oladipo, Indiana Pacers (OVR 87)

Height: 6’4″

Shoes: Jordan

Another player who makes the list despite being out with a long-term injury, Indiana Pacers Victor Oladipo. His rating has taken a slight hit from 2K19, dropping from an 88 to an 87 overall, having made just 36 appearances last season.

The Pacers star ruptured the quad tendon in his right knee back in January, and whilst reports show signs of progress, there is still no definitive timeline on when we will see him back on the courts. However, with an 87 overall, he will still be a key man on the virtual courts in 2K20.

Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns (OVR 86)

Height: 6’6″

Shoes: Nike

A future All-Star, Devin Booker is the current face of Phoenix Suns and at just 22 years old, is another name who fans should expect to see tearing up the NBA for the foreseeable future.

The young Suns man has continued to improve his stats year upon year, with last season his best to date. A threat from all areas of the court, Booker shot 26.6 PPG on a 46.7% field goal percentage. In January of this year Booker became the 5th youngest player in NBA history to reach 5,000 career points. Expect to see him hit a lot more before his time is up.
