Nathan Gorman hits out at Daniel Dubois ahead of heavyweight fight

Nathan Gorman is confident he can ruin Daniel Dubois’ status as the next face of the heavyweight division.

The unbeaten heavyweights put their perfect records on the line when they clash in London next weekend.

Dubois is the favourite to prevail and to continue to follow in the footsteps of Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury .

But Gorman insists he can ruin his countrymans’s plans.

He said: “Listen, he is big, he’s got a nice big six-pack. I haven’t, so he looks good in photos. When I knock him off the perch I will take it from there and I will be No.1, I will be the golden goose.

“Until then I am happy to be the underdog, which I would imagine I will be.

“People just write me off, they look at the way he is built and think ‘he looks handy’.

“If it was a bodybuilding competition he would win Mr Olympia, but it is isn’t. It is fighting and one thing I can do is fight.”

Dubois has knocked out 10 of his 11 opponents to date while Gorman has stopped 11 of 16.

And the latter dismissed suggestions his rival has a superior record.

He added: “How has he? Who has he fought? No disrespect, I fought Kevin Johnson, I fought [Razvan] Cojanu, so we have basically fought comparable opponents.

“You can’t go off [Richard] Lartey, his last opponent, who I think had to dye his beard to cover up his grey hair!”

Dubious, meanwhile, considers Gorman to be a “boring” fighter.

He said: “Well, this sort of fighter will never be entertaining, it is just the way he is,” reasoned the London fighter.

“One thing I can tell you is he is never going to be exciting to watch.”
