Naomi Campbell shares candid Dettol snap from the plane

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has gone viral with a photo of her donning latex gloves and a face mask while holding Dettol wipes as she sits on a plane waiting for take off.

The catwalk queen shared the funny photo on Twitter with the caption ‘Fly safe’, looking chic as ever despite the germ-defying mask thanks to the addition of her designer sunglasses. Proving she’s got quite the obsession with hygiene but isn’t too much of a diva to do the dirty work, the model looked ready to give the first class seats a thorough clean before she jets off.

The candid photo comes just days after the super shared a video on her YouTube channel detailing her airport and in-flight routine. In the video she can be seen unpacking her gloves, whipping out some wipes and proceeding to wipe down every surface and anything she might touch with the anti-bacterial wipes, saying it’s something she does on every plane she gets on.

Quickly cleansing everything from the tray table to the armrests, she also had a bright pink seat cover of her own, which she says she buys at the airport before handwashing them at her destination hotel.

In the video Naomi also adds a less medical-looking black mask over her nose and mouth which hooks over her ears. She adds that she hates how whenever you land on any flight people start sneezing and coughing – and she believes the mask has saved her from getting sick, considering how much she travels.

Of course, she does plenty to look after her supermodel skin too, pointing to a bag full of ‘hydrating’ face masks that she says she uses in flight.

We only wish more jetsetters would take Naomi’s super clean approach – though perhaps from now on they will.

Last week’s Twitter post about someone using their feet to swipe the in-flight entertainment screen went viral as followers branded it ‘disgusting’ and reminded us all that perhaps carrying some Dettol wipes in our hand luggage a la Naomi might not be such a bad idea…
