Nadine Coyle's changing look – from tiger stripes and string vests to glossy jungle babe

Despite not having access to makeup or a hairdryer, Nadine Coyle has still managed to wake up looking like a popstar on

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here.

Her endless legs, beachy waves and natural beauty have proved to be the envy the Girls Aloud star’s campmates.

But back when she was a 17-year-old hopeful vying for a place in the band on Popstars: The Rivals, Nadine rocked a rather different look.

Like most teens at the time, highlighted layered streaks were her friend, along with low-slung jeans and a lot of bronzer.

In one very noughties shoot, Nadine, 34, showed off her stunning figure in a string dress – remember those? – with a hot pink bikini preserving her modesty.

She even had matching pink knee boots

But as Girls Aloud matured, so did her style, with Nadine ditching the tiger stripes and opting for a more feminine, form-fitting look.

Nadine and her bandmates Cheryl Tweedy, Kimberley Walsh, Sarah Harding and Nicola Roberts also overhauled their lifestyles after manager Louis Walsh allegedly called them fat.

“We were doing our video for Love Machine in 2004 and Louis Walsh waltzed in and said to us, ‘Oh, none of you are fat any more! Brilliant, that’s great,'” Kimberley once told OK! magazine.

“I was like, ‘OK! There it is…’ Obviously in Louis’ head he did have an issue with some of our sizes.

“That was the first time I thought, ‘OK maybe my weight is an issue.'”

However, on several occasions Nadine has been forced to defend her slender frame.

In 2009, reports claimed she’d been seen weighing her food at London’s posh Ivy restaurant and sending the excess back – claims she denied.

“I have always had incredibly skinny legs. It’s in my family. If anything I have put weight on since the last Girls Aloud tour,” she told OK! magazine at the time.

Listing her favourite foods, she continued: “My big weakness is potatoes. I love them mashed or baked.

“When I get back to Derry I always enjoy a good fry-up that my mum makes. That’s my big weakness. I also eat too much chocolate.”

And having moved to fitness-obsessed Los Angeles, she explained that her slimmer figure was down to exercise.

“I’m not a particularly healthy eater. But I am 100 per cent fit and healthy and I am the right weight for my body type,” she added.

“I am totally happy with my weight. I’m not unhealthy at all. I’m just doing a lot of running with my trainer back home in Los Angeles.”

Meanwhile, a surgeon from MYA Cosmetic Surgery believes Nadine may have had a helping hand with her appearance.

“I would suggest that Nadine may have undergone the non-surgical treatment of dermal fillers to her lips as she appears to have slightly fuller lips compared to previous images,” the surgeon told Mirror Online.

“It is possible Nadine has had jawline and chin contouring with non-surgical dermal fillers. This treatment creates a more defined and slimming look to the chin and jawline and can cost around £150 to £300 per session, depending on the amount of product used.

“Weight loss can also affect a similar change of the face shape, but fillers will help create specific definition in this area.

“I would also suggest she has had the non-surgical treatment of dermal fillers to her cheeks. Fillers give volume to the cheek area and this is achieved by injecting dermal fillers along the contour of the cheekbone to create more definition. This treatment can typically cost in the region of £200 to £500 per session depending on the amount of product used.”
