Nadine Coyle proved to be the most supportive ex-girlfriend after being pictured holding hands with her former love Jason Bell after Strictly Come Dancing last night.

The former Girls Aloud star watched on from the audience as BBC pundit Jason made his debut on the dancefloor with his partner Luba Mushtuk during the first live show on Saturday.

After all the excitement of week one, Nadine and Jason were seen sharing a car and tightly holding hands as they sat in the back of their ride home. Both wore face masks and seemed in good spirits as they exited Elstree Studios in Borehamwood.

The pair are proud parents to six-year-old daughter Anaiya and began dating in 2008 before getting engaged in 2010. They cooled off their relationship and reconciled in 2014 when Nadine fell pregnant with their first child before splitting for good in September 2019.

Still, they’ve remained on friendly terms and Nadine, 35, had been coaching Jason, 42, before he took to the dancefloor yesterday.

Jason previously revealed: ‘Yes, we’ve talked about it. We’ve talked about how – it really is a timing thing.

‘I said, “Do I have enough time during the week to get these routines down?”.

‘She’s done it her whole life, she’s like, “You’ve really got to lock in and be focused and I’ll help you and I’ll give you some tips and some tricks”. So I got a couple.’

The former NFL player continued of Nadine and Anaiya: ‘Yes, they are highly supportive and they’re as excited as I am. I mean, they talk about it daily.

‘Sometimes I’m just like, hey, let me just calm my nerves a little bit now.

‘My daughter, she asked me about it last night, talking about how she was going to behave and how nervous she was going to be. So, having their support is the key.’

He added: ‘And, really, just going out there and wanting to represent them well, you know? They mean so much to me.’

It’s likely the sports star will be in a support bubble with Nadine and Anaiya during his time on Strictly.

Jason got off to a fairly good start in the Strictly competition after scoring a cool 16 points for his American Smooth with Luba.

Strictly continues Saturday on BBC One.
