Nadine Coyle Girls Aloud feud: Why did Nadine Coyle leave Girls Aloud? Why did they split?

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Nadine Coyle, 34, was a member of the group Girls Aloud alongside Cheryl, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding. The girl band were created through the ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals back in 2002. In 2013, the group confirmed they had split up as they announced their comeback tour will be their last.

Throughout their time together, various reports claimed not all the girls got along and Nadine seemingly insisted this was true during her appearance on Celebrity Juice last year.

Host Keith Lemon asked the Irish beauty if she still saw any of her former band members, to which she swiftly replied: “No.”

After some laughing from audience, panelist Jimmy Carr chimed: “It’s for the best isn’t it?” to which she agreed.

Keith then said he had heard rumours that the group had fallen out, to which she denied.

“There was no falling out, there was just no friendship to begin with,” she replied.

In a previous interview with The Sun, the vocalist said her bandmates were “bitter” that she got more vocals than them.

“It was fine at the start but there’s always politics in any band,” she said.

“It just happened that I always got more vocals than everybody else, so in terms of people wanting their voice heard, that wasn’t happening.

“The girls want to split up the band and this is the statement they want to put out,” she told the Daily Mail.

“I thought ‘What?’ I said, ‘I don’t want the band to split up.’ They said, ‘We know you don’t, but that’s what’s happening.’

“I said, ‘Don’t put the statement out. I haven’t read it properly and I have to get dressed. We’re about to go on stage.’

“I went straight to Sarah and said, ‘Do you want out of the band too?”’ She said, ‘Yes I do.’ I felt numb. It was shock. I definitely hadn’t seen that coming.”

At the time, Cheryl hit back at the claims, reportedly telling Attitude Magazine: “She’s full of sh**.

“What do you want us to say? She’s full of sh*t. She was the one who wanted to make a solo record. Which is why we took the hiatus.”

The hitmaker went on to say that Nadine wasn’t going to make another Girls Aloud record until she got a solo deal.

“I feel she held us to ransom and then made her solo record deal,” she went on to say.

Following their split, Cheryl, Kimberley and Nicola have remained good friends and regularly share snaps together on social media.

Kimberley addressed her friendship with Nadine and Sarah after the band’s break-up in her 2013 autobiography A Whole Lot of History.

She wrote: “They’re just very different from me and I don’t always understand where they’re coming from.

“I suppose you choose the people you want to spend time with because they’re the people you get on with and who bring out the best in you.”

The mother-of-two went on to say that those differences were evident during the reunion tour.

“By the time we got to the actual shows, some of the old problems and niggles we had with Nadine started bubbling to the surface again too,” she added.

“Nothing had really changed. There was a definite change in her, which became more evident each time she came back from LA.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get e Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
