Nadia Sawalha: 'I was neurotic' Loose Women star opens up on 'hard' lockdown with husband

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha, 55, has spoken out about how she first felt “neurotic” in the early days of the coronavirus lockdown with her husband and TV producer Mark Adderley. The ITV favourite confessed how the lockdown was “really hard” in the beginning as she was often “hysterical” after watching the news.

Nadia, who has been married to Mark since 2002, spoke about how she was first dealing with the lockdown restrictions.

Speaking to Ok! Online about whether being homebound with her partner had improved their relationship, the actress divulged: “I would, actually.

“I think at the beginning it was really hard because I was neurotic and I was really over responding to everything, watching news the whole time, being hysterical, which is not really like me, actually.”

Nadia continued: “And then I decided I just couldn’t watch the news and I didn’t want it on in the house and all of that, but I came out of that because, of course, you want to be informed.

“But, Mark was still in that place of reading and watching everything so every five minutes there would be a: ‘Oh my God, you won’t believe it!’ and I’d be like: ‘Oh my God, what?'” the TV presenter explained.

The small-screen star went on to admit how she and Mark “fell out” as they weren’t “on the same foot”.

Nadia confessed: “We fell out about that quite a lot at the beginning and we really weren’t on the same foot with the way we wanted to handle it.”

The former EastEnders actress shares their two children Kiki-Bee Adderley, and Maddy Adderley, 17, with Mark.

Nadia proceeded to detail: “Good food, exercise, meditation, a good boxset.

“A good phone call with your friends. Mark just mouthed to me, ‘Good sex.'”

The soap star then addressed how she had “survivor’s guilt” further on into the interview.

Nadia discussed with the publication: “I’ve got survivor’s guilt.

“I’ve got a nice house, nice garden, nice husband, two very annoying dogs, and I can cook,” the TV star shared.

“All of those things make for a very bearable lockdown.”

Nadia, who is best known for playing Annie Palmer in EastEnders, was previously married to her first late husband Justin Mildwater, for five years.

Justin tragically passed away on Christmas Day in 1997 at the age of 31.
