The ‘stormy’ relationship between the sisters is said to from the rivalry their father Nadim enforced with his desire to have ‘strong independent’ daughters.
Growing up in Croydon, the sisters lived with both their father Nadim and mother Roberta.
After the birth of Julia, Roberta suffered postnatal depression where she later sent Nadia to her grandmothers which Nadia says contributed to their deep pitted rivalry.
Nadia said: “When my mum had Julia, I was so excited I kept wanting to pick her up and cuddle her. My mum, who was a bit postnatal, got scared and sent me to her mother’s.”
