The twin brothers who starred in My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and were found dead this weekend, are said to have died in a suspected ‘suicide pact’.

Billy and Joe Smith, 32, who appeared in the show’s third series alongside Paddy Doherty, were found on Saturday morning in a quiet country lane in Sevenoaks, Kent.

A cause of death is yet to be confirmed but it’s believed they died by suicide.

Their cousin, Phoebe Charleen Smith, has broken her silence to reveal the family had concerns about Billy and Joe in the weeks leading up to their death.

According to Phoebe, Joey had been diagnosed with cancer recently and his brother Billy allegedly struggled to cope with the news.

Speaking to The Telegraph yesterday, Phoebe revealed: ‘Joey told the family he got the all-clear after chemo two months ago, but we don’t know if that’s true now.’

After learning the news of his brother’s poor health, Billy allegedly told him: ‘I’d never be able to live without you.’

Recalling what happened in the hours before their death, Phoebe continued: ‘They went missing, and Joey’s phone was turned off. Then we found a note.

‘It said that they wanted it like this, and we would find them in the woods where they played with the family years ago.’

An uncle reportedly ran to the woodland area where he found the bodies.

Billy’s partner Kristina Delaney paid an emotional tribute to the brothers in a Facebook post, where she described him as ‘perfect, pure and lovely’.

‘Hardest day of my life… You made me the happiest girl. Did everything for me showed me love i never had [sic],’ she wrote.

‘Joe I tried telling you our phone calls many times I said to you just wait for time to heal you. I wish I could have done more for you both I do may you both get the best beds in heaven. Bill please please please be happy now I’m just persuading myself your happier. I know you wouldn’t me to cry but I am and I cry because I’m in pain [sic].’

My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy also spoke out to remember the twins fondly and said: ‘Two good looking boys, God bless their souls. That’s a terrible, terrible tragedy.’

He added: ‘May God look after them. They are two angels. They’re in the kingdom of heaven walking on gold.’

Billy and Joe were described as Romani Gypsies when they appeared on the show at the age of 24.

The episode showed them working as gardeners in Kent, discussing their traveller lifestyle and going on holiday in Tenerife.
