Muppet Christmas Carol to be performed live in concert in Scotland this winter

The Muppets will bring their much-loved take on A Christmas Carol to Scotland this winter.

A live orchestra will perform live alongside a showing of The Muppet Christmas Carol in Glasgow and Edinburgh in December as part of a UK tour.

The band will touch down at The Armadillo in Glasgow on December 1 before performing at the Usher Hall in the capital on December 2.

It will see The Muppets perform the classic Charles Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog playing Bob Crachit, the put-upon clerk of stingy Ebenezer Scrooge (Michael Caine).

Scrooge receives visits from spirits of three Christmases – past, present and future. They show him the error of his self-serving ways, but he seems to be past any hope of redemption and happiness.

Gonzo, as Dickens, narrates the story with the help of Rizzo the Rat.

The film also sees the likes of Miss Piggy take on the role of Emily Cratchit, Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig and Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim.

A live performance from The Novello Orchestra, conducted by David Mahoney, will provide the backing for a showing of the film.

Tickets will be available on general sale from Ticketmaster or Disney Tickets from 10am tomorrow morning.
