Mums are going wild after woman shares the ‘mermaid wall’ she created for her daughter… and it’ll cost you less than £20


A MUM has revealed how she created a feature “mermaid wall” for her daughter, using just three products from Poundland and B&M.

Taking to the Extreme Couponing And Bargains UK Facebook group, fellow mums have been going utterly wild for the creative DIY, after the mum revealed she spent less than £20.

“Mermaid feature wall, paint £14.99 from B&M (Dulux Proud Peacock),” she wrote on the group.

“Scales are made from wallpaper samples from B&M, B&Q and other bits I had already.

“I made a scale shape template and cut them all out.

“Wallpaper paste was £1.99 from B&M. Little circular mirror was £1 from Poundland.”

The post has since had over 16,000 likes and more than 2,000 comments with hundreds of users praising the mum for her creativity.

Many couldn’t believe she had managed to space the scales out so perfectly while others were going wild for the “beautiful colours”.

Hundreds have been tagging their friends, suggesting they create the same design for their own kids, while others said it looked like it had been done by a professional.

One commented: “This is so beautiful, you clever clogs!

“My daughter is soon going to get her first room on her own… I have ideas now!”

While another tagged their fiance and wrote: “We have to do this! Let’s get collecting samples.”

One person even suggested it would also look great as “dragon scales” in different colours.
