Mum who defied the odds by giving birth to baby girl after skiing accident left her paralysed reveals people always ask if she can ‘have sex in a wheelchair’

A MIRACLE mum who defied the odds and gave birth to a baby girl after a skiing accident left her quadriplegic and in a wheelchair has revealed how people are always curious about her sex life.

Chloe Kennedy, from Sydney, Australia, was told she was paralysed after the 2017 accident, but was determined to still have children.

Living in Italy at the time, Chloe almost lost her life when she hit ice while skiing down the Dolomites mountain range and found herself going ‘too fast’ before blacking out.

“The mountain was actually quite icy, which I think was part of the problem,” Chloe explains on Australian TV shoe Sunday Night. “The last memory I have is thinking, ‘I am going too fast.'”

When she woke up eight days later, she had undergone multiple emergency operations and found her partner, Antonello Vigna, had flown over from Australia to be by her bedside.

“I couldn’t move. I have a breathing tube in, I had a feeding tube – I had tubes for everything,” the brave mum-of-one continued. “I kept hearing words like paraplegic and paralysis.”

It was then that Chloe was told she had damaged her spine and despite being able to use her arms and hands, that she had been labelled quadriplegic.

She was flown home by private jet and spent a year undergoing rehab with Antonello by her side, who always encouraged her that one day she would make an ‘amazing mum’.

Sixteen months into her recovery the unexpected happened and the couple fell pregnant ‘naturally and easily’ with their daughter, Aurora.

But Chloe revealed that despite many messages of congratulations, most people were ‘shocked’ that the pair were still able to have sex.

She explained: “A big thing that people ask – or I know they want to ask – is, ‘wait – you’re in a wheelchair… you can still have SEX?’.

“And I’m like, ‘yes, everything still works like it did before’. We made a baby.”

Despite being confined to her wheelchair, Chloe said her pregnancy was ‘easy’ and that they felt ‘lucky and fortunate’ to be able to welcome their little one.

Their daughter was born at the Prince of Wales hospital less than a month ago – and they named her Aurora as Chloe’s skiing accident stopped her from going to see the Aurora Borealis.

“I’d booked to see but never got to see. So now she’s our light,” the new mum gushed. “To have her here in our arms is perfect. We love her.”
