Mum turns old cabinet into a stylish wardrobe for her baby girl for FREE using just wallpaper and a lick of paint

A MUM-TO-BE has revealed how she managed to transform a dated wooden cabinet into a beautiful wardrobe for her baby girl’s nursery.

Sharing before and after photos on the Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It Facebook group, Shraiden Leesha explained it cost her nothing to upcycle, using just wallpaper and a lick of paint.

“Another maternity project finished!” She wrote.

“China cabinet took some work to clean up from decades of nicotine stains and muck but it was the only thing that cost me!

“Everything else required I already had and the paper which isn’t too clear in the photos is just wallpaper samples (rather large samples).

“Just need the baby to arrive now!”

The cabinet has been painted white with a rail added at the top to hang some adorable baby clothes.

The second glass shelf has been used to house shoes and booties while the bottom of the cabinet has room for toys and extra bits and bobs.

In the comments section, Shraiden explained how she managed to upcycle the cabinet so beautifully, removing the smell and stains.

“I tried sugar soap, washing up liquid on the wood and it wasn’t budging,” she explained.

“I tried vinegar and water and you could still see it coming off after scrubbing with that so my only other option was to sand it.

“So I sanded what I could, scrubbed with a vinegar and water mixture again and then emulsioned and painted and it seemed to take most of it.”

While another wrote: “I adore what you have done. This piece of furniture will live on.”
