AS much as we adored the latest Toy Story movie, there’s nothing quite like a new Pixar flick to make our little ones lust after ALL the branded merchandise – and it certainly doesn’t come cheap.
Just last month, parents were left fuming after being charged £13 for a Forky toy which they claimed would have been cheaper to make themselves.
Well if you don’t fancy splashing out on your child’s latest obsession, one mum has revealed how she made her two-year-old daughter’s dream Toy Story bed using cheap paint samples from B&Q.
Sharing impressive before-and-after pictures on the Facebook group Extreme Budget DIY & Life Hacks, the mum wrote: “Would like to show off my DIY which I’m quite proud of.”
Posting a picture of the bright blue bed before its dramatic makeover, she raved: “I got the bed off Facebook for free!!”
After painting the majority of the frame white, the mum then copied the yellow cowboy design of Jessie’s Western shirt and painted it on the headboard and bottom of the bed.
Nailing every single detail, the mum even incorporated the collar of Jessie’s shirt into the design as well as the pearl buttons running down the front.
And better still, the mum achieved these amazing results by using paint samples from B&Q costing just £1.30 each.
She added: “Got some tester pots from B&Q. When we move, I’m doing my two smallest bedrooms Toy Story-themed so this is the start of it!”
Unsurprisingly, other users were similarly impressed by both the level of detail AND affordable cost.
“It looks fab, your kids are very lucky,” one wrote.
Another added: “Brilliant! Well done.”
And the woman added that the most important judge (her two-year-old daughter) spotted that it was Jessie-themed instantly and “loves” her new bed. Now if only we had one for ourselves.
For more incredible home improvements, this mum has revealed how she transformed her rented kitchen for just £50 – and she WON’T lose her deposit.
And people are transforming their bathrooms and kitchens using these £1 tiles from Poundland.
Plus this thrifty mum has transformed her home using free wallpaper samples – and people have hailed her as an interior design “inspiration”.
