A MUM has posted photos of the reality of half term after becoming sick of other parents’ picture perfect snaps.
Caroline Eyles took to her Facebook page While I Think of It where she shares her “candid account of adulting”, to say her piece.
She shared several snaps of her messy home with all of her children’s belongings strewn across the floor.
Captioning her post the psychotherapist, 37, wrote: “Showhome much? Instaperfect?? Whatevs mate.
“Sometimes you just need to ignore all the overwhelming aftermath of half term that needs doing and just get back into bed with a cup of tea and watch Horrid Henry with your three year old, your dog and your cat.
“Dear Lord, please give me the energy to tidy my house while my son is at pre-school this afternoon. Amen.”
Speaking to the Metro, the mum-of-two was quick to remind fellow parents that everybody struggles during half term, despite what their Instagram might stay.
She said: “Parenting is not easy, it is hard work. I love them dearly, but it’s the hardest job in the world. Half term is a change of pace.
“You can chill out and enjoy the time with your kids but, if you don’t want to change with the pace, you often find you’re trying to stay on top of your house.”
In other parenting news, this mum shared her ‘life-changing’ chore chart.
And this mum revealed how she curls her daughter’s hair with a pair of SOCKS – and the results lasted four days.
Plus this mum shared her packed lunch tip which stops bananas going brown.
