Mum shares 'life-changing' hack that keeps kids happy when shopping

If going shopping with your kids makes you want to pull your hair out before you’ve even left the house, this hack could well and truly save your sanity.

Mothers everywhere are far too familiar with the supermarket tantrums. What starts as an innocent lunge towards a bag of crisps on a shelf soon turns into a ticking time bomb the moment you calmly tell them no, they can’t eat crisps for breakfast.

A mum has posted the brilliant idea to a Facebook group for what she does to keep the kids occupied when she’s out and about.

Mums everywhere praised her for the all too simple invention, that can be put whipped together with only two household items, as reported by The Sun.

All you need is two pegs and an ice cube tray – which you’re bound to find indoors.

But mum Lauren recommends a giant ice cube tray to fit in the most food.

She said: “One giant ice cube tray full of snacks and two stroller clips kept my little one happy the entire trip!”

A mum shared her handy hack with other mums on a Facebook group

All that’s needed is to simply attach the ice cube tray to the front of a trolley with the pegs and fill with a selection of goodies to keep your children’s wandering eyes away from the treats on the shelves.

Lauren suggests snacks like rice cakes, fruit and carrot sticks to serve as a handy distraction.

“When snacks are life, we shop with a whole buffet.”

“What a great idea!” said one, whilst another loved the trick, hailing it as ‘life-changing’.

Now there’s no reason to fear the shops and no need to call anyone to babysit.
