Mum shares genius way she stops her ‘feral’ kids destroying her Christmas tree – but not everyone’s happy

THERE’S nothing more frustrating than putting up a perfectly-decorated Christmas tree, only for your kids’ playtime leaving it looking somewhat dishevelled.

However, one mum has come up with a genius way to protect her festive creation in the living room from her “feral” children.

The woman, called Eleyse, revealed in Facebook group ‘Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK’ how she asked her carpenter dad to make a wooden fence that would stop her kids approaching the base of her tree.

She wrote: “So I’ve wanted to put my tree up for a while now but knowing my feral kids they would destroy it along with our nine week old kittens I almost paid £19 for a tree guard off Ebay.

“Then [I] noticed it was 30cm high my kids could jump that!!

“So my dad being a carpenter’s spent £25 on wood and this is the result!! My tree survives another year!!”

Her clever idea went down well with fellow members who gave her post 1.7k ‘likes’ within hours.

One person wrote: “It looks lovely!! I want one.”

Another commented: “Genius.”

However, a user called Jemma was less than impressed by her use of the word “feral” to describe her children.

Rushing to the mum’s defence, one person replied: “I love the fact you call your kids feral mine are just as bad in fact I’m yet to meet a child that isn’t feral from time to time.”

Another added: “Love your description of your kids fantastic your dad [has] done an awesome job.”

And a third shot back: “Bore off Jemma…when you have children of your own, you will understand it’s ok to call them names other than ‘my beloved’ child’.”
