Mum shares 'game-changing' sheets hack for kids who wet the bed

Children can make a lot of mess, can’t they?

From spilling food on the floor to knocking things over and getting dirt all over their clothes while playing outside.

It might feel like you’re forever cleaning up after your little ones and no matter how much you love them, it’s exhausting.

But one parent has shared a clever little hack that might help save you a bit of time in the future.

Writing for Kidspot.com.au mum Lana Hallowes shared the parenting hacks which have genuinely made a difference to her life and one ‘game-changing’ trick is bound to come in handy if your kids are still potty training and happen to wet the bed often.

The hack is simple, all you have to do when you make the bed up, is make it twice – as in, put double the amount of sheets and waterproof layers on.

Lana explains: “When making the bed (the first time), do it twice. I know, I know, this sounds crazy! But I’ve found doing this helps my little one to slip quickly back into snoozeville after a bed-wetting disruption.

“I put a waterproof mattress protector down first, then a set of sheets, another waterproof layer followed by another sheet set.

“Then, it’s just a case of removing the wet bedding when an accident happens. A ready-made bed is already waiting underneath the waterproof layer.”

She added that she was taught this by a friend of hers who had children that wet the bed until the age of nine and it was a “game-changer” for them.

As well as this trick, Lana also shared a few other top tips, including getting your child to wear swimming goggles in the bath while washing their hair, to avoid shampoo suds getting in the eyes.

The mum claims keeping large plastic tubs or baskets in the boot of your car is a great way to carry all the shopping, without using plastic bags.

You would put all the shopping loose into your trolley at the till, before loading into the tubs in the car.

Then once you arrive home, simply ‘plonk’ the baskets down on the kitchen counter and unpack from there.
