A NEW mum revealed she took a nerf gun into the delivery room to wake her husband up if she needed him as he’s the ‘soundest sleeper’.
Samantha Mravik-Miller revealed she had such a hard time rousing her husband, Chad Miller, when she welcomed her first son, now five, she wasn’t taking any chances this time around.
Samantha, from Wisconsin, USA, revealed her husband could sleep through “an atomic bomb”, and had napped through crucial points last time around.
So as she left for the hospital for her planned C-Section, she grabbed the toy just in case.
She shared a snap of herself on Facebook holding the gun, saying: “Mom hack level 1,0000.
“Worried about the nights in the hospital with your new born & dad sleeping?
“Well… then don’t forget one of these in your hospital bag.”
The mum’s tongue in cheek post has gone viral since uploading it last month, racking up more than 16,000 shares.
One woman said: “I want this as a push present.”
Another wrote: “Haha definitely gunna need that!”
A third thought: “I needed one of these for the first one.”
While this woman commented: “Remembering this for next time.”
And another added: “Next time I’m packin.”
Samantha later shared the backstory to the nerf gun, revealing that during her first labour she completely lost her voice due to being on oxygen for 12 hours.
Coupled with a husband who is “the soundest sleeper in the world”, she had previously resorted to throwing a water bottle at him to wake him up, but missed.
Samantha said: “I thought to myself if there’s ever a point the baby’s crying and I can’t wake him up I’m going to have way better aim with a nerf gun then I’m going to have a flimsy water bottle.”
But she assured that while he’s a deep sleeper, he was also on hand to help – and she didn’t have to resort to shooting him.
Samatha added: “He was super good aside from snoring super loud.”
And this mum’s birth selfie went viral after she captured the moment her husband passed out.
Meanwhile this mum revealed she spent £800 preening herself for labour including getting a bikini wax.
