Posting the one minute clip on social media, the mum-of-three, from Enfield, wrote: “Please be aware guys this happened to Taylan this morning… thankfully we got it off him in time.”

In the video, Taylan’s father places the lid over a soft toy’s nose and mouth to show just how easily it could have suffocated his son.

“I’d like to point out the dangers of a bottle,” Joe said. “As you can see, it’s just a standard baby bottle. However, my son was playing with the lid earlier as he always does.”

The father explained how his son has been biting on the lid to soothe teething pains but accidentally got the whole thing stuck over his face.

He said: “It literally covered the whole of his mouth and nose so he couldn’t breathe.

“I managed to pull it off his face and he’s okay thankfully, but this is for all the parents, godparents and grandparents, just to make everyone aware that the bottle lid can be very dangerous.”

Drawing the video to a close, Joe added: “So if your baby is playing with a bottle lid, please be very careful as it can suffocate them.”

Since it was uploaded last week, Kelly’s post has been shared over 44,000 times and racked up over 5,000 comments from users thanking her for sharing her story.

One replied: “So glad you acted so swiftly! I’m an old mother and that wouldn’t have occurred to me as an immediate danger.”

Another added: “Thank God your son is okay, thank you for sharing I’m sure many people would never think of that happening with a bottle top.”

“Very scary when you think how many times babies play with their bottles etc, even in their cots while parents get on with things in the house,” a third wrote.
