Posting in the Facebook group ‘Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK’, the thrifty social media user explained how she had tested the fun supermarket product out with her children.

“Got this from Aldi today, tested it out tonight, I’m sorry but it’s AMAZING,” she wrote.

“£4 perfect gift for Christmas for slime or jelly lovers.”

The mum continued: “Even if not used in a bathtub, could use in a bucket??!!!!”

She added: “COMES WITH DISSOLVER PACK & IT DOES DISSOLVE.”

Appeasing the fears of some fellow members, she also insisted: “Didn’t stain my bath. And dissolved instantly you just sprinkle the second pack over evenly and stir.”

And she revealed how she used it to play an ‘I’m A Celebrity’-inspired game with her little ones, explaining that she “hid toys in the jelly” and they called it a “bush-tucker trial” and “afterwards we counted how many we found like they were stars”.

However, others warned it could turn your bathroom into a slimey mess, and said it was particularly risky for those who have septic tanks.

One person revealed: “I had to get a drain pipe replaced.”

Another commented: “Not good if you are not on mains sewage.”

A third noted: “Anyone with septic tanks. Don’t use this. It clogs up and takes for ever to get rid of it.”

And a fourth wrote: “Nooooooo don’t do it! Mine didn’t dissolve I had to sieve the whole lot out, complete disaster!!!!!!”
