A DOTING mum revealed how she did up her daughter’s bedroom to make the space more comfortable while the little girl was shielding, creating a gorgeous unicorn-inspired space on a budget.
Mum-of-two Joanna Kerr proudly showed off the stunning room makeover, which features bargain buys from Ikea, Argos, eBay and B&Q.
Joanna took to the Facebook group DIY On A Budget Official to share some snaps of the new room, which now looks like a peaceful sanctuary for her lucky little girl.
Alongside the handful of pictures Joanna wrote: “My 5-year-old daughter, who had been shielding, asked me for a rainbow bedroom.
“So as a treat before I returned back to work, once we had a little bit of freedom, I tried my best to make her little dream a reality.
“I made the most of anything she had and made a few little bits myself with love.”
After sharing the original post to show others how far a bit of hard work and creativity can go, Joanna was amazed by the positive reception she received online.
Her Facebook post has received almost 3,000 likes and 300 comments to date.
Social media users rushed to congratulate Joanna on on her handiwork.
One woman gushed: “What a beautiful room
one very lucky little girl! Well done you.”
Another agreed: “It’s beyond
absolutely beautiful. I’m sure she’s over the moon. Well done!”
A third said: “Beautiful fit for a princess
.”
The post has received so much traction, with many flocking to ask where she bought each item from, that Joanna returned to the post to reveal the details.
The bookshelves were from Ikea, she picked up the rug in Asda and the world map, wall stickers and wooden rainbow were all purchased on Etsy.
Meanwhile, Joanna ordered the teepee from eBay, the light shade from B&Q and chest of drawers came from Argos.
The creative mum added personal touches to the room, including a handmade rainbow door door decoration.
Not stopping there, she added adorable eyelash stickers to little plants for an adorable girly touch.
