Mum-of-four shares photo of the huge two weeks’ worth of snacks she’s made for kids – but some think it’s too far

AS much as we’d love to be the kind of mum who had our weekday dinners planned days in advance, we’ll admit it – meal planning is just not our thing.

But while we can just about to scrape together what we need for our kids’ packed lunches, one mum is putting our organisational skills to shame with an impressive photo of the two weeks’ worth of snacks she’s made.

Posting on the Facebook group Lunchbox Mums, the Australian mum explained how her sister and her three children are currently living with her and her four little ones.

Rather than keeping everything separately stashed away in cupboards, the mum has grouped the snacks into plastic bags for each child to grab on the go – and the dozens of bags cover her entire kitchen table.

The enormous bags contain a packet of crisps, at least one piece of fruit, a bag of popcorn, a cereal bar and some mini Oreos to supplement their lunchboxes.

She wrote: “We do what we do to make things work – we also pack extras in their lunchbox such as sandwiches, other fruit options and or yoghurts, jellies or fruit cups.

Although the mum acknowledged that there was a lot of plastic involved in her process, she added: “Sometimes you just gotta put your differences aside and do what you gotta do to make it happen.”

The woman’s post has since racked up almost 1,000 “likes” from other members of the group – but sparked fierce debate in the comments.

One user replied: “I also have seven. It’s so hard seeing all the mums post [pictures of] lovely baking each day. I wish I could so this post makes me happy.”

Another added: “Fed is fed. Good on you for being organised. And as for plastic – do any of you know if they reuse these bags seeing as they won’t be getting dirty.”
