Mum left in tears as son wears late dad’s shirt for their ‘date night’ in heartwarming video


A MUM has been left emotional after her son surprised her by wearing his late dad’s shirt for their ‘date night’.

In a heartwarming video shared to Twitter by Clayton Walker, his mother Julia Pritchett can be seen welling up at the sweet gesture.

Captioning the clip, the 21-year-old – who is from Fort Worth in Texas – wrote: “My father passed away when I was one and I only have a few shirts of his so I wore one for date night with my momma.”

His mum can be seen smiling as she sets eyes upon her son wearing the checked shirt, which previously belonged to her husband.

She then breaks down in tears as he hugs her and kisses her on the head, saying: “I love you”.

In a later tweet, he called her his “best friend”.

The post melted hearts on the social media site, and soon garnered more than a million ‘likes’ as well as 187k shares.

One person, who is close to Clayton, wrote: “Your dad would be proud of the person you are today, I know I’m proud to call you my best friend. Much love hermano.”

Another commented: “This Mother Son energy!

“Something I’ve always wanted with my mom. Much respect bro.”

A third shared: “A parent’s love for their children is so pure man, unconditional. Don’t ever take it for granted.”

And a fourth added: “The sweetest thing I’ve seen all day.”
