THE PANDEMIC has altered children’s regular routines quite drastically – including by removing school dinners.
However, one genius mum created a yummy “lunch menu” at home to cheer up her kids who were missing the opportunity to choose their own midday meals in coronavirus lockdown.
In a post on Facebook group ‘Lunchbox Ideas Australia’, the creative parent, called Heidi, shared pictures of a black board inscribed with dishes, including chicken nuggets, cheese toastie and cheesy garlic bread.
The mum wrote: “We had homemade lunch orders yesterday. The kids loved it.
“They’d been a bit down about the fact that not being at school meant no lunch orders, so this made them all very excited.”
She also revealed snaps of the delicious lunches she had made for them.
Her idea was praised by fellow social media users who left more than 230 ‘likes’ on the post.
One person commented: “What a great idea.”
Another wrote: “What a great way to spice up lunch time and keep it interesting.”
Tagging their friend, a third shared: “How cool is this.”
And a fourth added: “That is adorable!”
It comes as another mum shared her colour-coded lunchbox hack which stops her kids snacking.
