A MUM who was convinced she spotted a ghost baby in her son’s cot has been left in hysterics after realising that it was a photo on the mattress protector.
Maritza Elizabeth, from Illinois, shared the photo of what appeared to be a ghostly entity on her tot’s baby monitor yesterday.

Her son can be seen curled up next to another baby’s face, leaving Maritza convinced that the spirit of an infant had made its way into his bed.
But upon further investigation she found that her husband had failed to remove the plastic from the mattress which features a sticker with a baby’s face on it.
Captioning her photos, red-faced Maritza wrote: “So last night I was positive there was a ghost baby in the bed with my son. I was so freaked out, I barely slept.
“I even tried creeping in there with a flashlight while my son was sleeping. Well, this morning I go to investigate a bit further.

“It turns out my husband just forgot to put the mattress protector on when he changed the sheets, I could kill him.”
Her post has since gone viral, amassing more than 300,000 likes on Facebook and thousands of comments from fellow mums left in hysterics over her mistake.
“I would have freaked out as well” commented one, with another one adding “I’m dead omg!!! I would have freaked.”
Another wrote: “Lol that is creepy but so funny!”
In other parenting news, this mum was branded “disgusting trash” by a woman after she mistook the doll she was selling online for her daughter.
Plus this little girl declared she was ‘done’ with sausages after her dad was very honest about where they come from.
