A MUM has divided opinion online after asking if it’s acceptable to feed her 22-month-old daughter pizza for breakfast.
The woman asked other Facebook users for their opinion after explaining her extremely fussy child has requested the food for breakfast.
Asking whether it was really any different to cheese and tomato on toast, she wrote: “Is there any reason why I shouldn’t give my 22-month-old pizza for breakfast if that’s what she’s asked for?
“I know it isn’t ‘conventional’ or a normal breakfast but if we were at a hotel buffet type breakfast and she picked up some toast, a grilled tomato and slices of cheese, that would be classed as normal and acceptable so what difference does it make in pizza format?
“As that’s all a plain pizza is, bread, tomatoes and cheese.
“I’m totally open to any suggestions as to why not, I just don’t want to be saying no for the sake of it.
“She’s an extremely fussy eater and to be asking for anything is progress to me!”
And the post has since divided opinion online with some users unimpressed while others saw no issue.
One wrote: “We have a fussy one! I give her anything she will eat!”
While another said: “No issues in my opinion, give her the pizza.
“It’s a society thing that suggests we must have toast and cereal for breakfast.”
Another told the mum to go for it, with one admitting she would give it to her daughter and “have some for herself too”.
Others suggested trying to include some whole foods instead of processed pizza was a better option, while another said her child sometimes has cheesy pasta.
Others were less impressed, however, with one commenting: “I’d say no personally and offer other alternatives to choose from, but I don’t let my little one have pizza or convenience/oven food so she doesn’t know any different either.
“My daughter typically has eggs and ham/sausages as well as porridge and sometimes fruit.
“Or avocado on toast with poached eggs.
“Sometimes we have a continental style breakfast. But those are our breakfast options.”
Others suggested making homemade pizza and freezing it.
