Green Day’s Tre Cool lived up to his name tonight after falling out of a car on the Europe Music Awards (EMAs) red carpet – and still managing to look cool.

After 85 million record sales, it’s pretty impossible to embarrass yourself!

In a trademark all-black outfit, the 46-year-old’s entrance may or may not have been to do with his brogues (shoes which are extremely awkward to walk in, FYI, if you’ve never worn a pair).

The iconic group – known for hits like American Idiot and Basket Case – won the Rock Award at tonight’s ceremony in Seville, Spain.

The event took place at the FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre.

Other big winners of the night included former Oasis front man Liam Gallagher and Bad Guy singer Billie Eilish.

One person who was no doubt delighted by Billie’s award win Green Day’s Billy Joe.

The 47-year-old front man recently publicly praised the star, saying her music was ‘saving lives’.

While interviewing each other for Rolling Stone magazine, Billie (from Green Day) told Billie (the 17-year-old): ‘That’s one thing I really liked that you said to your fans when I saw your show. You said something about not having it together.

‘You said something about how, “you’re in the right place if you’re crazy.” I think about that a lot, because that’s what a lot of people come home with.’

Then after Billie criticised herself for having bad shows, the rock icon told her: ‘For me, it’s learning what gratitude means to you. My life could have definitely gone in a different direction. I’m just glad people show up. Now, if I have an off show, I kind of don’t care.’

Preach!
