MTV EMAs 2019: Dua Lipa wows in barely-there leotard as Liam Gallagher receives inaugural Rock Icon award

THE BRITS took over tonight’s MTV European Music Awards in Seville, Spain this evening, with Dua Lipa, Liam Gallagher, Niall Horan, and Mabel giving sensational performances.

While other nations dominated when it came to receiving the accolades, our stars represented the UK in all its glory as they took to the stage – and Liam also took home the inaugural Rock Icon gong.

Dua, 24, opened the show with her hit Don’t Start Now, dazzling in a barely-there leotard that highlighted her enviable figure.

The beauty had her newly-dyed hair tied back into a slick ponytail, and teamed the cut-out leotard with tights and black boots for the attention-grabbing performance.

She was supported by boyfriend Anwar Hadid, who was spotted cheering her on in the audience before the singer joined him for the rest of the ceremony.

Dua wasn’t nominated for any awards this evening, having previously won the Best New Act gong in 2017.

While Dua ensured the ceremony got off to a rousing start, fellow Brit Liam Gallagher closed the show – delighting fans with a rendition of Oasis hit Wonderwall as well as his new solo track.

The 47-year-old rocker was thrilled to be the first recipient of the Rock Icon accolade at tonight’s do, but missed out to Green Day in the Best Rock category, where he was nominated alongside Imagine Dragons, Panic! At The Disco, and The 1975.

Former One Direction star Niall Horan also performed his new solo song Nice To Meet Ya, thrilling fans across Europe.

The Irish star commanded the stage with the lead single from his upcoming second album.
