MPL Singapore, the franchised Mobile Legends: Bang Bang league for Singapore, has named Samsung, the Singapore Esports Association, and *SCAPE as its partners for its Season 8 Playoffs.

The event takes place from October 11th to 13th at the *SCAPE The Ground Theatre in Singapore with a SGD$100,000 (~£58,520) prize pool on the line.

The MPL Singapore Season 8 playoffs features six teams from the country who compete to be crowned champion. The winner will also qualify for the M6 World Championship taking place from November 21st to December 15th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a partner of MPL Singapore, Samsung will provide event commentators and analysts with its Galaxy Tab S10 model. Meanwhile, the Singapore Esports Association returns as the youth partner of the event. As youth partner, it will aim to organise youth-focused programmes during the event to ‘nurture Singapore’s next generation’ of talent. *SCAPE is a Singapore-based charity focused on youth developments, and also appears to operate he venue the event is held in.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) continues to expand at an impressive rate despite its mid-season cup recording a decrease in viewership. MLBB’s yearly World Championship achieves some of the highest viewership numbers in esports, with several million concurrent viewers tuning in.

In June, MLBB developer MOONTON expanded its partnership with Saudi Arabian megaproject Qiddiya to grow the game in the Middle East.

Ng Chong Geng, President of the Singapore Esports Association, spoke on the news: “MPL Singapore has established itself as the only professional esports league in Singapore and is one of the premier esports leagues across the Southeast Asian region.

“SGEA is thrilled to collaborate with the league and its talented players, driving Singapore’s success in the esports arena.”
