Most popular baby names inspired by locations – from Madison to Lincoln

Choosing a baby name is one of the first major responsibilities handed to new parents – and it’s a decision not to be taken lightly.

Parents can find inspiration from family tradition, trawling through baby name books, or from popular culture – with Connell and Maeve expected to be well-used names with newborns in 2021 thanks the popularity of BBC’s Normal People and Netflix’s Sex Education.

There are also plenty of parents who choose names based on locations around the world, including where their child was born or favourite cities they have visited on holiday.

And now a study by Flowercard has picked out the most popular baby names inspired by locations in the last 10 years, using databases from both the UK and the US.
