Mortal Kombat 11’s Spawn revealed by new action figure

Mortal Kombat 11’s next DLC character, Spawn, has been kept under wraps for a while, but now we know what he’ll look like.

There aren’t many comic book heroes that would make for a good fit in the gore-tastic Mortal Kombat 11. Spawn, however, is an exception.

Todd McFarlane’s edgy anti-hero will be joining the fight by the end of March and while we’re probably still a ways off until we get some proper in-game footage, but fans can make do for the time being with this new action figure.

McFarlane himself shared images of the figure earlier this week, describing it as a 7-inch figure with 22 points of ultra-articulation that ‘can achieve full range posing.’ It will also come with a base to stand it on and a Spawn Sword accessory.

According to McFarlane this will be how Spawn will appear in Mortal Kombat 11, so fans will no doubt be happy to see it in such loving and accurate detail and actually wearing his cape, as opposed to his appearance in the Xbox version of Soulcalibur 2, where his character model had to be rendered without it.

The figure is set to release around the same time as Spawn is added to the game, which is 17 March for early access players.

Between this look and Keith David, the voice of Spawn from the old 90s cartoon, coming back to reprise the role, NetherRealm Studios have clearly gone out of their way to make this as appealing to long-time fans of the character as possible.

Mortal Kombat 11 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
