Mortal Kombat 11 Terminator trailer doesn’t sound anything like Arnie

Mortal Kombat 11 – at least it looks the part

The official gameplay video for Mortal Kombat 11’s Terminator DLC seems disappointingly half-assed without the right music or voiceover.

Although it’s Super Smash Bros. that has the reputation for unexpected cameos, the Mortal Kombat series doesn’t do too bad itself, having previously featured everyone from Freddy Kreuger to the Predator.

The line-up for Mortal Kombat 11 is a similar mix of old school Mortal Kombat fighters and celebrity guest stars from the world of movies and comics. The Joker and Spawn won’t be out till next year but the Terminator T-800 is due to arrive on Tuesday, 8 October.

Until now there’s been no gameplay footage, but that’s now been rectified thanks to the video below. Although… he’s a bit disappointing, as it’s very clearly not Arnold Schwarzenegger doing the voice and they haven’t even coughed up to have the proper Terminator theme tune.

Still, at least some of the special moves look cool, and we like the bit where Scorpion sets Arnie on fire to reveal the endoskeleton beneath.

But to be honest, if you’re going to have the T-800 in the game wouldn’t it be best to have Arnie in his prime, instead of the old man Terminator from new movie Dark Fate?

Unfortunately, the movie company seems to be trying to push the film as hard as possible when it comes to games at the moment, as there’s also a tie-in with Gears 5.

Although, while new standalone game Terminator: Resistance also seems to be a tie-in, because it also ignores all the films except the first two, it’s actually not.

Beyond the already confirmed characters an earlier leak also suggested that Mortal Kombaters Fujin and Sheeva would be added as DLC at some point, alongside Ash Williams from the Evil Dead movies.

A previous DLC teaser even seemed to tease Ash’s inclusion, with footage of someone using a chainsaw, but he’s yet to be confirmed. We imagine Bruce Campbell’s voiceover fees are a bit cheaper than Arnie’s though.
