Morrisons issues urgent ‘do not eat’ warning for shoppers as cereal is pulled from shelves


The urgent recall reads: “Morrisons is recalling Morrisons Free From Gluten Choco Crackles because it contains hazelnuts (nuts), milk, and gluten-free oats which are not mentioned on the label.

“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to hazelnuts (nuts), an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, and/or an allergy to oats (that are gluten-free).”

Morrisons added: “Please do not eat this product and return it to your nearest store for a full refund.

“No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

The supermarket doesn’t need a receipt to provide customers with a refund for this specific cereal.

Allergens: Milk, nuts (hazelnut), oats (gluten-free)

Customers should not eat this product if they have purchased it and return it to the store for a full refund.

This isn’t the only product being recalled by the supermarket either, Morrisons is also recalling its Morrisons Market Street 18 Caramel Crispy Bites because of undeclared egg.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to eggs.

Best before: All dates up to and including December 12, 2023

Customers are urged to not eat this product, returning it to their nearest store for a full refund, no receipt is needed.

Morrisons added: “No other products are affected by this issue. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety.”

The FSA noted: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.

“Then it might be withdrawn or recalled. Sometimes food has to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk.”
